The group had only consisted of Marcel Wildy, Age 18, Milo Stokes, Age 17, and Chris Cheeks Jr, Age 15 who went from singing and rhyming in each other's living rooms to recording in a real recording studio. Myles Cleveland, Age 16 later joined the group after Chris Stokes had noticed him dancing at a Scream Tour concert in 2003, and with a brief audition backstage, Myles became the missing link 2Much needed. The other members are originally from California, Myles is a Bridgeport, CT native. With considerable help from Chris Stokes, Immature and B2K orchestrator, the group plotted its development. The quartet signed to Mathew Knowles' Music World label and was housed by Omarion's Music World-affiliated boutique imprint. In early 2007, 2Much made its full-length debut.
Bennett “Laze” and Justin “Royal” Talmadge Armstrong (2XL) strengthened their bond through their common love for music and have used rap as their salvation. Their father abandoned them. Their mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. They were kicked out of school. They were forced to essentially raise themselves. With only each other to rely on, Royal and Laze poured their heartache and struggle into their moving work, showcased on their stunningly diverse and sonically powerful debut album, Neighborhood Rapstar.
On the somber "The Chapters," 2XL chronicles their tumultuous lives over a chilling piano- and drum-driven beat. The album’s most personal song is "Mama of Mine." Royal and Laze's mother was diagnosed with cancer in 1996, was determined to have another tumor in 2004 and, in early 2006, doctors detected a third brain tumor. While in an Atlanta studio working on material, the duo started telling a producer their life story.
"As we got to the part about our mom, he was like, 'Hold on. Stop,'" Royal recalls. "He turned on this beat and he was like, ‘Ya’ll have to do this joint about your mom.’ As soon as we started, it almost felt like magic. We get a lot of e-mails and comments from females and DJs about how so many people can relate to it. It's our struggle, but yet people are like, 'My grandpa just died,' or ‘My mom just got cancer.’ It was the first song where we were like, 'OK. This is on the album.'"
"Our connection outside of being brothers is that we have respect for each other on the work level and for each other’s talents and abilities," Royal says. "We have little arguments, but we honestly don’t fight. We’re fulfilling our dreams through each other. I need him to succeed and he needs me to succeed -- and we both know that."
Despite their struggle, 2XL's music also focuses on life’s enjoyable pursuits. In fact, when they sent their feel-good “Kissing Game” single to a few select radio stations, they were confident that it would be well received. But the avalanche of enthusiasm -- from fans and radio DJs alike -- caused the duo to put the song out as a single, one that was added to heavy rotation in Detroit and Minneapolis, among other cities.
Impressed by 2XL's self-generated buzz and independent hit, major labels soon came courting. They signed with seminal rap indie Tommy Boy Entertainment (De La Soul, Digital Underground, Naughty By Nature, House of Pain, Coolio, Everlast). Neighborhood Rapstar showcases their wide-ranging talent and pays homage to their rabid online fans, who have helped make the duo legends in their home base of North Hollywood, a Los Angeles suburb.
“We’ve had a pretty cool following for the past two years through the Internet and the mixtape circuit, so in our neighborhood in North Hollywood we’ve already been established,” Royal explains. “We’ll be walking down the street and there will be little kids on bikes coming out the candy store like, ‘Sign something for me.’ We took that and made it a national thing because there’s a lot of cats who are really on the grind and doing their thing independently. In their neighborhood, they’re superstars. Like Slim Thug, before anybody knew who he was nationally, he was a millionaire Down South.”
Even though Royal and Laze are only 16, they’ve been working toward Neighborhood Rapstar for six years. They started making music when they were 10, inspired by their mother, who filled their place with the soulful music of Al Green and others. When her young sons showed an interest in making music, she bought them equipment, even though it struck a blow to their finances. Laze recalls “When we first got interested in making music we asked our mom for a microphone. Things were financially really bad for us and with only so much money to cover what we needed she had to decide whether to buy us the mic or pay the electric bill. She decided to buy us the mic and it sat in the middle of our living room for a few weeks since our electric got cut off – but we learned how much she believed in us.” Indeed, because of a variety of circumstances, 2XL and their mother moved more than 15 times during their childhood.
Today, 2XL realizes that music can help them get past the struggle they have already endured. “We were at a point in our lives where we had two paths,” Laze says. “You can go the right way or the wrong way, but right now we’re being home-schooled and getting straight A’s, and we have our mom. We’re not looking to go the wrong way - we’re obligated to take care of her. That makes us work twice as hard."

Born in Jackson, Mississippi,he attended Dillard High School before he moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended North Atlanta High School. He returned there to appear in the debut episode of Once Upon A Prom aired on MTV May 19, 2007. He first entered the music scene in 1996 with the now-defunct youth quartet Mista. Some years after Mista disbanded, he enrolled in Clark Atlanta University where he majored in Mass Communications, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Discovered while singing on the bus, Bobby Valentino first made his mark as the lead singer in the hit teen group, Mista. As a new found member of the Organized Noise Family, Bobby learned firsthand how great music was made from icons such as Outkast, TLC, and Goodie Mob. In 1996 the group released their self-titled debut album and produced chart topping single, "Blackberry Molasses," which still remains a classic to this day. A second unreleased album was recorded with hit makers, Tim & Bob and Delite, but creative differences split the group. Shortly thereafter, Valentino decided to return to his studies and enrolled as a communications major at Clark Atlanta University. While in school, Valentino continued to record in his free time in hopes of one day returning to the stage.
After earning his degree in 2003, Valentino returned to the studio fulltime. Bobby Valentino attempted to jumpstart his career by auditioning for the first season of the hit reality show American Idol, but was rejected by judges, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. However, armed with three albums of demos and by chance, a demo wound up in the hands of multi-platinum recording artist Ludacris. Immediately impressed by his talents, Ludacris and his business partner, Chaka Zulu (president of DTP) signed Valentino as the first R&B artist on Disturbing Tha Peace Records. Soon after, Valentino was re-introduced to the world as a solo artist and featured on the hit single, "Pimpin All Over The World" off of Ludacris' multi-platinum selling album "The Red Light District" in 2004.

It's almost the finale, and this episode, the guys are being tested on their dancing, singing, and overall performance-- the total package. The boys get a new choreographer named Jamal, and they seem to like him better than Laurie Ann because he actually breaks the dance steps down slowly until each guy gets it. Julius is still frustrated about his leg injury, because there is an upcoming elimination that will include dancing, and he is forced to sit in the dance studio while the other guys learn new choreography. Donnie is also stressed about his dancing because last week Diddy stated that he can't dance at all, but Jamal says it's just in his head; don't let what other people say about white boys get to your head, and he appreciates the support from his new dance coach. He later then receives dance tips from Qwanell and Carlos, which seems to have helped him boost his confidence immensely. We learn Carlos's fiancee is pregnant, but he later recieves news that their baby might be born with down syndrome. As the guys get ready for elimination night, Donnie puts on a ridiculous outfit, asking one of the other guys if this outfit made him look more of a dancer. They go to Spotlight to perform for Diddy, who will be basing tonight's information on dancing, singing, performance, improvement, determination, and their past weeks here in New York. Carlos's group is first to perform, and Diddy quickly stops the dancing performance and asks the group to sing again because he doesn't think Carlos gave his best. They dance again, and he still doesn't look satisfied. Carlos can't balance his personal problems with the competition, even though he says he wants this more than anything. When Julius's group performs their dance routine, Julius is having trouble with the dance because he hasn't practiced nearly enough as his group members, and Diddy again asks his group to redo it. When Donnie performs his choreography with his group, he states that he believes what Diddy said was just a test, because if Diddy thought he couldn't dance at all, why wouldn't he have just cut him right away? He believes Diddy did it to get him to work twice as hard as his bandmates, and wants to prove him better than the guys that already left and the guys still here. Diddy seems to like his group's performance, especially Big Mike because he looks like he's enjoying dancing for Diddy. When it is time to individually perform vocally, Carlos and Julius both struggle; Diddy asked Carlos if he even knew the words of the song, and Julius began to fumble more and more as he performed. In the end, only Julius and Carlos were cut. The guys were then told to go home for two months and come back looking like superstars.

Percy Romeo Miller, Jr. (born August 19, 1989 in New Orleans, Louisiana), better known by his stage name Romeo or formely Lil' Romeo, is an American rapper and actor. He is the son of rapper, producer and entertainment mogul Master P and nephew of C-Murder and Silkk the Shocker. He records southern rap hip-hop music on his father's Guttar Music label. He has so far released three studio albums and two compilation albums. His fifth album God's Gift was released on December 12, 2006.
Before all of his success Romeo always had a gift for rapping even at the young age of 4. His father Master P mentioned that he left him home to play with his cousins one day and came home and his son told him he wrote a rap song all by himself. Also before Romeo became famous he was featured in some of Master P's early records. At the age of 10, Lil Romeo followed in his father Master P's footsteps and became a rapper. He beat Michael Jackson's record of the youngest person to get a number one with his first single "My baby". His success came from his two early studio albums, mainly Game Time. He mentioned that he did the album all by himself, at his home studio, which was shown on the show MTV Cribs. Lil Romeo released a third album called Romeoland, with guest appearances from Nick Cannon, Master P, and his new group, the Rich Boyz, but this didn't get as much attention as his previous two. He released two more unnoticed albums, Lottery and God's Gift in 2006.
Romeo opened a new recording label named Guttar Music. Romeo also appeared on most of his father's greatest hits, such as "I Need Dubs". He is in a rap group with his cousins and younger brother, Young V called "Rich Boyz". So far the Rich Boyz have released one studio album but the group appeared on most of the tracks on God's Gift. Since then, Romeo has been working on his new album, Gumbo Station. This will be his first studio album for three years and his first studio album to use the name Romeo. He mentioned on his myspace page that this is going to be his best album yet. Guests will include Master P and the Guttar Music Family and production by Dr Dre. Despite many others in the industry, Romeo will not be changing his lyricial style too much. He has stated that he will not try and toughen up his lyrics saying "Why try and act hard when I'm a role model?". He mentioned also that some songs on the album will make you want too dance, sing and even cry too. He writes all of his lyrics on his records and has said that he has been a ghostwriter for some artists. After the album has been released in 2007, Romeo will be concentrating more on his basketball than his music.
Sammie Bush (born in Boynton Beach, Florida on March 1, 1987) is an R&B artist signed to Dallas Austin's Rowdy Records. In 2000, at the age of 13, he released a debut album titled From the Bottom To the Top, which was originally through Dallas Austin's Freeworld Entertainment label. The album included the singles "I Like It (1999)" and "Crazy Things I Do". The singles had a generous amount of radio airplay.
Miami's preteen R&B singer Sammie Bush was exposed to music five years after he was born. His mother, a former professional singer, sang in the church choir while she was carrying him. Fittingly, Sammie's first singing triumph also occurred at church; at age four, he received a standing ovation for his performance of "Troubles Don't Last Always." Music was never far from Sammie's mind, even at school; teachers would catch him singing under his breath during classes, but encouraged his talent. Eventually, a music teacher from Charles Drew Elementary, a nearby magnet school with a special performing arts program, heard of Sammie's vocal gifts and he transferred there at the start of third grade. Soon after, he formed a vocal group, the Wonder 3, with two junior high boys. Sammie's music teacher was so impressed with their performances that she sent a videotape of them to the television program Showtime at the Apollo, which led to an audition for the group and a 1998 solo performance for Sammie. Ultimately winning the show's finals, Sammie and his mother were contacted by Joyce Irby, an agent connected to Atlanta-based producer/songwriter Dallas Austin, who has worked with Monica and Another Bad Creation
Austin brought Sammie to his studios for some demos and almost a year later, had him return to record his debut album, From the Bottom to the Top, which was released in early 2000 by Capitol Records featuring JT Money and LLoyd Of N-toon. His first single, "I Like It" became a top ten R&B hit and a Top 200 pop hit. With cameo apperance by the group N-toon. His album soon hit silver status. He followed hit up with the Top 100 R&B/Pop crossover, "Crazy Things I Do." In 2001, he was featured on the song "Hardball" with Lil Bow Wow, Lil' Zane and Lil' Wayne.
He left the game to go on to graduate from West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida in 2005. A year later, Austin signed him to his reactivated Rowdy label and released his self-titled album. The album has many top producers like Dallas Austin, Jazzy Pha, Bryan Michael Cox. The album's first single, "You Should Be My Girl" hit the charts and became a Top 30 R&B hit. The album hit the Top 45 of the Billboard Hot 200 albums chart. - Heather Phares, All Music Guide. Also releasing the fair single "Come with me", a nice slow song produced by Bryan-Michael Cox.

Christian "Yung Berg" Howard (born September 9, 1985) is a American rapper who is a native of Chicago, commonly referred to as "The Prince of the Chi". His first single was "Sexy Lady" which features R&B singer Junior. He was originally signed to DMXs Bloodline Records. The album will include guest appearances from Twista, Eve, Shawnna, Rich Boy & Jim Jones, and will have a special tribute to the young rapper. It will be released on September 18, 2007.[citation needed] The Almost Famous EP, was released on July 24, 2007.
He has a style that is undeniably fresh, surrounded by a crew that emulates HBO's Entourage quad. At 21 years old, this Chi-town native is quietly plotting his take over of the phenomenon we know as Hip Hop. Possessing a flow that sounds as classic as a Marvin Gaye tune, with charisma more contagious then the common cold, Yung Berg is the definition of what happens when skills and swagger are pooled into one powerhouse.
Previously signed to DMX's Bloodline Records, Yung Berg got his first taste of the music business at the age of 15. Unfortunately Yung Berg's bite of success left a bad taste in his parent's mouths, which lead to a mandatory relocation to military school in 2001. This move would prove to be a blessing in disguise; with no television or radio available, it forced the budding lyricist to develop and hone a style all his own, free of the influences of the wave of hip hop that was popular at the time.
Yung Berg decided to take a different road to stardom upon his return in 2003. Berg refocused his energy and decided that learning the "behind the scenes" aspect of the business was going to propel his career to the next level. So in 2005 he signed on as a hype man for Disturbing The Peace's first lady of rap, Shawnna. The entrepreneur in Berg was cultivated during this time. Embodying every quality of a true leader, Berg launched his own entertainment venture - the Yung Boss imprint - currently comprised of a roster of equally talented producers and emcees.
"We're setting the standard for what's acceptable," says Berg. "Every other young dude was put on; we're putting ourselves on."
Now a little older and a lot wiser, Yung Berg is signed to Epic Records, gearing up to release his debut album, Look What You Made Me. The record boasts a wide variety of material ranging from specially crafted songs for the ladies to street anthems made to resonate in anyone's "hood". Look What You Made Me is Yung Berg's story in his own words and is poised to be one of the best new releases of 2007. Having snagged writing credits on albums for some of hip hop's elite including Shawnna and Eve and dropping verses on mixtapes for the likes of Clinton Sparks, Young Berg is guaranteed to bring that same spark and energy to his own project.
With a solid music foundation, a powerhouse creative machine and an increasingly growing fan base, Yung Berg is well on his way to becoming the voice of hip hop's next generation. The combination has undeniably resulted in the birth of the most versatile and unique emcees to enter the game in quite some time, ultimately the reason why hip hop's future is firmly in tact.
